A homage to the old 50s and 60s Mystery in Space comic I did sometime last year. I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. I really must colour it one day to see how it looks.
An experiment to do something like evil Jack Kirby tech, but with a Paul Gulacy vibe I guess.
Something I did a while ago, put here for completeness.
Cover for a comic with my character Maya which I’m sure I’ll never actually finish :)
Six mugshots I did for Postmortem Studios. Each is 3x3 inches, to be printed about 2x2.
My Future-Aztech warrior woman Maya versus some dark Void construct.
Something VERY different to my normal work… some actual “art” in the proper sense! I wanted to do an illustration for my partner Kate’s birthday card, and I wanted it to be a primitive expression of feminine confidence, to represent someone at the height of their power. All of which sounds a bit “arty” unfortunately, but there you go!
Horribly overworked monsters, steampunk and weird stuff will return!
Pharonaut
I really, really don’t like drawing super heroes, which is a bit weird given my job! I don’t know why - I suppose I just see too much of that kind of art, 8 hours a day, six days a week. Having said that, I was going through a bit of a dry spell artistically, and needed to do something well outside my comfort zone to nudge me back into productivity, so here you have… Dr Strange.
